Amoena Breast forms

These breast forms have been developed by Amoena, the world's leading manufacturer of prosthetic breast forms for women who have had a mastectomy and are therefore made to the highest quality and in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. These single-layered breast can be worn directly against the body in the cup of a bra. These breast forms are only available to woman through the NHS and through this web site and are not offered for sale anywhere else. Silicone is produced synthetically from the raw materials sand and coal and is therefore a natural product. It offers various advantages in that silicone is kind to the skin, soft to touch, water-repellent and very resistant to both chemicals and heat. This means that the breast forms adapt quickly to body temperature.

PU Film refers to an extremely hard-wearing, high performance film that closely resembles the skin in softness and suppleness. Intensive tests have shown that the film causes no allergic reactions or skin irritation. With this gossamer-thin but hard-wearing film, the silicone breast form is very gentle on the skin and body.

Free summer pockets: All pairs of breast forms come with two 'summer pockets' in order for maximum comfort in warmer weather. This is a cotton skin coloured fabric pocket (rather like a small cushion cover) that covers each breast form and as the PVC coatings on them can make that area a little sweatty and rub against your skin. These are fully washable and reusable.

Taking care of your breast forms

The original boxes are designed to protect the form and help keep its shape whilst not in use. You should wash your form regularly with warm water and a very mild unscented and unmoisturised soap. After washing rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a towel. Remove all jewellery before handling your forms, as the edges and stones of rings could damage the form. If you plan to wear a pin or brooch, put it on your clothes before putting your forms in place. You can wear your forms for pretty much any normal activity, but be careful around pets, as their claws could puncture your forms through your clothing.
